Week 3: Limerick District League Premier Division Round-Up

Carew Park and Ballynanty Rovers played out a thriller in Carew Park as the game ended in a 3-3 draw. Care raced into a 2 goal lead thanks to Pa Boyle and Arron Nunan. Ballynanty showed great character in the second half to draw level through two quick fire goals from Thomas Byrnes and Habideen Gbedebo. However, Carew must have though they had grabbed the points when Nunan grabbed his second of the game but Gbedebo was on hand again to equalise.

Ballynanty host Aisling Annacotty on Sunday in LIT in another big clash while Carew Park take on Pike Rovers.

Nenagh picked up their first victory of the season with a 4-1 victory over Coonagh United at Brickfields on Thursday night. Matthew Spain x2, Kieran O’Brien and Dylan Morrisson accounted for the goals for Cillian Fitzpatrick’s side who now face Janesboro on Sunday morning. Coonagh replied through Ger Myles and will now face Mungret Regional.

Mungret Regional are still searching for their first points of the season after they succumbed to a 1-2 home defeat against Charleville. Shane Dillon and Mark Patterson traded goals before a late Gary Ward penalty gave Adam Castle’s side the 3 points. Mungret host Coonagh on Sunday and it is unlikely that Charleville will have any game due to Prospect Priory’s demise.
