Weekend fixtures confirmed for camogie and ladies football teams

It’s going to a busy weekend for those involved in the Limerick camogie and ladies football teams with both sides in championship action.

John Ryan’s footballers are first in action on Saturday afternoon when they get their All-Ireland Intermediate Championship campaign underway with a fixture against Kildare at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick were well beaten in their two games against Tipperary and Clare in the Munster Championship, but Ryan will be hopeful that they can give a truer account of themselves against Kildare.

On Sunday, Declan Nash’s senior camogie team play their rearranged championship game with Galway in Athenry.

The sides were due to face off last weekend but the original fixture was postponed due to an outbreak of gastro-enteritis as a result of an issue with the water at the Croagh venue where Limerick and Wexford played.

Galway go into the game as firm favourites for the tie throws in at 2:30pm. The ladies football game on Saturday has a 2pm start.
