Limerick’s senior camogie team play their second game of the championship this Saturday in Croagh knowing a victory over Wexford puts them in a strong position.
If Declan Nash’s side make it two wins from two, they will be in with a real chance of making the All-Ireland semi finals.
However, they have extremely tough games to come away from home against Kilkenny and Galway on the horizon.
Before all that is a fixture against a Wexford outfit that were hammered by Kilkenny last time out. The Limerick manager is expecting his side to put in a performance on Saturday.

“We all knew the importance of the first game and getting off to a good start. Last weekend’s fixtures have gone in our favour a little bit so a good performance and a possible two points would put us in a good position for qualifying this year.
“They are a really focused group. I have said for a long time that they just turn up for every session like it’s their last.
“They give everything and will be fully focused on Wexford. The work is done now at this stage so it’s just a case of keeping them fresh and hungry for the weekend.”
Limerick were edged by Kilkenny in a tight contest earlier this year in the league group stage. It was a different story against Galway as Limerick failed to get going in a game they lost 2-14 to 0-4 in the league semi final.
Despite the tricky fixtures ahead of Nash’s charges, he is confident that they have the ability to keep improving, and, more importantly, have the mentality to cope with whatever comes their way.

“We have had the mentality since the start of the year that if we focus on our performance, and keep improving week on week that we will be there or there about with anybody.
“Nothing really changes for us with regard to the opposition. We have a job to do and we have performance levels to reach and if we reach them on a given day, we should be able to keep with anybody.”
The senior game has a 5pm throw in on Saturday and is the second game of a double header at the venue. Limerick’s junior camogie side are also in action against Kerry at 3pm.
Having both games on the same day is a positive move and Nash is hopeful that fans will come out in numbers for both games.
