Longford Town ensured Treaty United’s League of Ireland First Division winless run extended to 12 games on Monday night, as they picked up a 2-1 win at Bishopsgate.
The hosts were bottom of the table, but their second victory of the season hoisted them to ninth, one spot and three points behind Tommy Barrett’s men.
The two sides are only propped up by Kerry FC, who have taken just nine points from a possible 45 this season. Treaty United’s last victory came against the Kingdom on March 1.
Mark Byrne was on the scoresheet for the Limerick side once more on Monday, his goal sending the visitors in with a 1-0 advantage at the break.
It took less than 15 minutes for the hosts to pull level in the second half, Ross Fay’s strike from the edge of the box getting the better of Corey Chambers.
