Wins for Adare and Monaleen in Group 2 of SFC

Adare madness it three wins from three in the Limerick SFC on Friday night when they beat Ballysteen by 1-14 to 1-9 in the Bog Garden.

That victory almost guarantees their passage to the knockout stages as they look to make it three championship titles in as many years.

Adare got off to the perfect start with a brace of scores in the opening five minutes.

Things would get worse for Ballysteen as they failed to convert any of their early chances.

It would be the 25th minute before they would get on the scoresheet with Adare leading 0-8 to 0-1.

Ballysteen would get the next two scores as they went into the break trailing by five, 0-8 to 0-3.

The sides exchanged scores early in the second half before Adare got the games opening goal to push them ahead, 1-11 to 0-6.

Danny Neville replied for Ballysteen with a three pointer of his own as they closed the gap to five.

Adare showed their experience however to close out the game and earn the two points.

Elsewhere on the night, Monaleen got their opening win of the campaign at the expense of St Senans, winning 0-13 to 0-4.

Senans lead 0-3 to 0-2 at the break and failed to score from play during the game.

They are still to pick up a point in the championship thus far.
