WATCH: “You do get goose bumps when you see it” Sean Finn on Limerick DVD

On August 19, 2018, Limerick bridged a 45-yar gap to finally recapture the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the first time since 1973. After five final losses since that last victory, John Kiely’s side overcame Galway in this year’s epic final to bring about scenes of unrivalled joy across the county.

The outpour of emotion that followed the victory around the county in the aftermath of the game will live long in the memory. To mark the historic scenes, Limerick GAA in association with Sporting Limerick have announced the release of a DVD chronicling the year, aptly entitled “Dreams: An UnforgettableYear”

Shot by Sporting Limerick Sports Editor Raffaele Rocca and William Buckley and packaged by Limerick company Dutec, the DVD includes exclusive interviews with the members of the Limerick All-Ireland winning team and management. The full game of the All-Ireland Final is also included.

The DVD – which is over fours long – also includes behind the scenes footage from the All-Ireland final and the homecoming in Limerick the following day.

Speaking ahead of the DVD Launch, Sean Finn, one of Limerick’s key performers throughout the summer spoke about the upcoming video.

“I have seen clips of the DVD and it is very special. You see the All-Ireland final from a different perspective. We’re looking out at the crowd coming through O’Connell street, you see the Spire and there’s so much Limerick people, you do get goose bumps when you see it”.

“Obviously it’s nice to get the soundtracks in the back. You’ve Dolores O’Riordan’s Dreams in the background, it never fails to put goose bumps on your arms.”

“Dreams: An Unforgettable Year” is not yet available to purchase in store but can be pre-ordered on the Elverys website with a delivery option also included. It is hoped that the DVD will be in store in the next two weeks.
