Zero positive results in Munster and Leinster from second round of PCR testing

The IRFU have confirmed zero positive cases from Munster after the second round of PCR testing this week. Leinster were also free of positive cases.

153 players and staff were tested across the two provinces.

All staff and players can now enter the next phase of their return to rugby which includes contact training.

There have now been 560 negative tests within the player and staff group with no positive tests recorded.

IRFU Medical Director Rod McLoughlin said:

“The second round of PCR testing is now complete ahead of the graduated return to contact.  The players and staff will continue to undergo daily medical screening and assessment. The next phase of testing will take place ahead of the Guinness PRO14 fixtures in August.”
