Down to the final six in the Limerick SFC with quarter-final pairings confirmed

Five of last year’s final six remain in the hunt for the title, promoted Na Piarsaigh replacing St Kierans in that regard.

We are down to the final six in the Limerick Senior Football Championship after the final round of games were played over the weekend.

Last year’s finalists Adare and Newcastle West are safely through to the semi-finals after topping their respective groups with 100% records.

The quarter finals will pair Fr Caseys and Na Piarsaigh while Monaleen will meet Kildimo Pallaskenry.

It means that five of last year’s final six remain in the hunt for the title, promoted Na Piarsaigh replacing St Kierans in that regard. It is a return to the knockout stages on the first attempt for Na Piarsaigh who reached the final of the Munster Intermediate championship last winter.

Their quarter final opponents Fr Caseys broke their hoodoo at this stage last year with victory over Kildimo Pallaskenry. It is a return to the stage for KP where they will meet last year’s semi-finalists Monaleen.

Those quarter final ties are to take place on the weekend of October 7/8th.

At the other end of the table, Claughaun will meet Ballylanders in the relegation final.
