Munster Announce signing of Tadhg Beirne

There have been a number of rumours around the Lock’s future in recent weeks

The former Leinster second row will make the move to the province at the end of this season, having impressed in his first season with the Scarlets, culminating in their Pro 12 win last May.

This season, Beirne has continued his superb form and was recently named man of the match with four turnovers against Edinburgh a few weeks ago.

The Kildare native has joined the province on a two year deal, the IRFU and Munster have announced, with hopes of being chosen for his national side.

Munster have had some issues in the second row in recent times, with Donnacha Ryan leaving for Racing 92 and South African’s Gerbrandt Grobler and Jean Kleyn struggling with injuries.

A former Ireland U20 representative, Beirne has played with JJ Hanrahan, Chris Farrell and Niall Scannell at the 2012 U20’s Six Nations and Junior World Cup so shouldn’t find it too hard settling in.
