Defending champions put their loss to Carlow IT firmly behind them by overcoming Trinity by eight points today in the 4G pitch in UL. Mary I held a five point advantage at the break before opening up an eleven point advantage with 20 minutes gone in the second half.
Trinity to their credit never gave up and were rewarded with two consolation goals near the end. At the full time whistle the score read 3-20 to 3-12 with Mary I now set to face NUIG next Thursday in a winner takes all game.

Cian Lynch was the standout player for Mary I, chipping in with a number of crucial scores for the victors, something which will be pleasing to Limerick fans as they begin their League campaign on Sunday.
