WATCH – Scrum-half James Hart “I’d be kicking myself if I never came home and gave it a go”

WATCH – Scrum-half James Hart on time in France and decision to return to Ireland.

James Hart moved to Munster following stints at Top 14 sides Racing 92 and Grenoble. The former Clontarf man says he enjoyed his rugby in France but knew that the clock was running out on him to complete a move back to Ireland.

“I spent six and a half years there. I can speak the language, my mum’s French so I had a bit of an advantage. I do enjoy the Top 14 the whole aura around it is pretty special. When the opportunity came to come home and I was at the age (26) that if I hadn’t come home this time I might never come home again.”

Hart is third in the scrum-half pecking order at Munster behind Ireland and Lions star Conor Murray as well as Cork man Duncan Williams, he says the move has been a learning experience.

“I’m learning off all the lads here obviously Murr is doing a great job with Ireland and he’s done a great job here for so many years and you’ve got Duncan who’s really experienced.”
