WATCH – John Kiely stresses the importance of a strong Limerick crowd ahead of Waterford test

Limerick manager John Kiely is expecting a stern test against Waterford this Sunday in what could be a defining day in his side’s hopes of reaching the Munster final.

“They’re a difficult team to break down, they’re defensively strong and they’ve lots of speed and pace up front with these younger lads. They’re a formidable unit and we’re going to have to work really hard to find chinks in that armoury of theirs.”

Kiely also paid tribute to the Limerick fans who were in fine voice in last weeks draw against champions Cork.

“We’re depending on our supporters to come out in large numbers again on Sunday, and it will be needed, there’s no doubt about that. All these games go down to the last 10 or 15 minutes and it can be great to have support on the line to drive you on and drag the last bit of energy out of the players.”
