WATCH: Quaid’s save making waves across the Atlantic

We all knew that Nickie Quaid’s wonder save was a pivotal moment in Limerick’s All-Ireland semi-final win over Cork but the Effin netminder’s stunning stop has also caught the attention of iconic American sports magazine, Sports Illustrated.

The game defining save from Quaid according to the article was the “Sports Highlight of the Weekend.” Who are we to argue with that.

Writer of the article, Dan Gartland, called Quaid’s save “jaw-dropping” and added that: “I’d wager that the majority of SI’s audience is wholly unfamiliar with the Irish sport of hurling, but you can’t really call yourself a sports fan if you don’t appreciate this play.”
