Limerick’s Mark Enright admitted to RTE that he had been “on his last legs” not so long ago before convincing Gordon Elliott to give him a job.
Yesterday, Elliott’s faith in the 25-year-old jockey paid off in the form of a 33/1 winner in the prestigious Galway Plate.
It was to be the biggest day of Enright’s career so far on Wednesday as he landed the feature on day three of the Galway Festival for Elliott and owners Gigginstown House Stud aboard Clarcam.

Elliott had four runners in the race and Gigginstown had six, Clarcam was the outsider at 33/1, yet was steered home in style by Enright, indeed two underdogs combined to do something truly special, as echoed by Limerick senior hurling hero Shane Dowling.
When I grow up I want to be Mark Enright.. Although I would hardly make the weight! ππ serious win kid!! Well done ππΌππΌπ https://t.co/5IEhTCbMDt
