Munster have 11 representatives in Joe Schmidt’s squad for the Guinness Series 2018 after the Head Coach announced his selection this afternoon for the games against Italy, Argentina, New Zealand and the USA.
There is a first call up for Sammy Arnold, while Peter O’Mahony, CJ Stander, Tadhg Beirne, Niall Scannell, John Ryan, Dave Kilcoyne, Joey Carbery, Andrew Conway, Darren Sweetnam and Keith Earls also make the squad.
Arnold trained with the Irish squad during the 2018 Six Nations but is in line for his first cap along with Will Addison (Ulster) and Ross Byrne (Leinster).
After announcing the squad, Schmidt said: “As always there have been a number of close calls in selection, meaning that some very good players have missed out in this particular window.
“The upcoming Guinness Series offers an exciting opportunity for the squad but will also be very challenging. We are certainly looking forward to getting back to a packed Aviva Stadium with the fantastic support that we get there.”
