LISTEN: Magee has total belief in Ballynanty players

Ballynanty manager Donal Magee has total belief in the ability of his players ahead of their Munster Junior Cup last 16 clash against Grattan United this weekend. The game kicks off at 2pm on Saturday in Cork as Ballynanty have eyes on the provincial quarter finals.

Magee revealed that the squad have went through strenuous training since the beginning of 2019 and feels it has paid off so far.

“We have increased training and demanded more of the players both fitness wise and collectively as a group and it seems to be working for us so far. It’s the first time the club has been in this position in a few years since the FAI Junior Cup run (2013). I think its been longer again in relation to a good run in the Munster Junior so it’s exciting times at Balla’ for us.”

Also, the former Shannon Town manager revealed that he and his management team have done their homework on the opposition and will not be surprised by what they see.

“Yeah I have friends in the game at this stage. We have our homework done and we know what to expect from them. I have played against them previously with Shannon 2 years ago in the Munster Champions Cup and we beat them 4-0. We know they will be a good side and a home draw for them is crucial.”

Donal also speaks about the departure of captain Jason Hughes as well as the importance of bringing the right attitude to the game. To listen to the full interview click on the link below:
