WATCH: Billy Lee looks ahead to Munster semi-final clash

A first Munster football final berth since 2010 is at stake for Limerick this Saturday evening when they travel to Pairc Ui Rinn to take on Cork.

After the impressive but unpredictable win over Tipperary in the quarter-final a fortnight ago, there is a great deal of optimism in the county ahead of the semi-final.

For manager Billy Lee, the result was deserved with his side getting the rub of the green on the day, something that had been absent throughout a disappointed League campaign.

“If you keep knocking on doors, you will get your breaks and it balances out over time.”

“On the day lets hope we can perform again and find an extra percentage of improvement in the performance like most championship teams that go on a winning streak do.”

Cork will come into the game vulnerable after suffering relegation to Division 3 in the Spring.

Yet, Limerick will still be heavy underdogs against a side they have only beaten once since the turn of the millennium and not in sixteen years, something Lee is all to aware of.

“But we have to put things in perspective. In my memory we haven’t beat Cork since 2003, that’s 16 long years… so that will keep everyone’s feet on the floor, that’s for sure.”
