This Sunday’s Munster Final will be a third for Limerick captain Declan Hannon.
The Adare man’s record in deciders is 50/50 with a win in 2013 forllowed by a loss against Cork in the rematch a year later.
Hannon is one of four of the current panel that have been involved with each of those with Quaid, Mulcahy and himself starting both previous finals.
Richie McCarthy is the only other squad member with such experience but is currently out injured.
That win in 2013, was Limerick’s first provincial success in seventeen years and was seen as a breakthrough.
However, Hannon says that while it was a brilliant experience, the team now is completely different from that one he started at full-forward on.
“It gave us a taste of what it is like to be involved in these big games in front of 50,000 people but 2013 is a long time ago and it’s pretty much a new group of players and the same for Tipperary.”
With so much youth on the squad, Hannon, Mulcahy and Quaid will be key leaders on the day in the Gaelic Grounds.
Hannon has little worry about his teammates however as they have plenty of experience in underage Munster finals.
“The boys have been involved in Munster minor and U21 finals. They have plenty of experience in these sort of games.
Obviously, Sunday is the senior one and the biggest one you want to win in Munster and everyone wants to tick that box of a Munster Championship.”
