Jamie Morrissey takes centre stage this Sunday at Unforgiven III as he defends his ISKA Irish Middleweight championship.
However, on the undercard, EireMuaySiam Thai Boxing Gym’s Faisal Azimi fights in a four-way fight with the winner to receive a month’s free training in Thailand.
Ahead of the opportunity, Azimi is fully focused on the job at hand.
“Something I’m really looking forward to. Really good camp with all the boys putting in the hard work. I’ve had a very good nine-week training camp so just one week left. Cut a bit of weight and mind the focus.”
“It’s my hardest test, I’m ready, I can’t wait.”
As a training partner to Azimi, Morrissey has first hand experience of the trip to Thailan with the Limerick fighter winning the national title shortly after his return from the camp.
He says the opportunity for Azimi is a golden one,
“What it brings is the most authentic Muay Thai camp in the world. Proper training so he will get the real experience.”
‘Unforgiven III’ takes place this Sunday in the Limerick Strand Hotel with doors open from 4pm.
