Ladies Football Finals double-header headlines this weekends action

This weekend sees a Ladies Football Final double-header with the Senior and Junior Finals up for decision.

Firstly the Junior final takes place between Fr Caseys and Adare at 12pm.

The Senior Final throws in at 2pm with the clash of St Ailbes and Monagea.

The Intermediate Final between Mungret and the Old Mill has been postponed due to a bereavement.

Below we preview each game.

Senior Final

St Ailbes v Monagea

Saturday September 21 in Bruff at 2pm

Defending champions Monagae take on St Ailbes in the Senior Final at 2pm on Saturday in Bruff.

Monagea qualified for the final by virtue of a 0-12 to 2-3 victory over Ballyalnders in the semi-final in what was a repeat of last years final.

St Ailbes were very impressive in their semi-final, having eighteen points to spare against Feonagh Castlemahon in a 2-23 to 2-5 win.

St Ailbes were last victorious in the competition back in 2012, adding tof the first title they won in 2011.

While Monagea come into the game as defending champions, the manner of Ailbe’s semi-final win will surely be cause for concern for the West side.

Regardless, this is certain to be a cracker between the two best sides in the competition this year.

Junior Final

Fr Caseys v Adare

Saturday September 21 in Bruff at 12pm

The opening bill of the double-header sees Adare take on Fr Caseys in the Junior Final.

Fr Caseys will be looking to go one step further than last year when they were defeated in the final by the Old Mill.

Thier opponents Adare are in their first ever final at the grade after they were formed in 2005.

After seeing the success of the Old Mill since their promotion twelve months ago, both teams will be eager to follow suit with Caseys experience in the final potentially enough to see them over the line.
