WATCH: “Momentum is an amazing thing”-Kiely hoping for Munster League launchpad

In late 2017, Limerick began their Munster hurling League campaign.

In the third installment of the competition, Limerick would finally come out on top in the season curtain raiser.

The Treaty county would go on to win the All-Ireland hurling final for the first time since 1973.

Limerick manager John Kiely is hopeful that this years competition can provide a similar launchpad.

“Before the National Hurling League starts in January, we need a few games to get built up and no better way than a competition like this.

It can be a launchpad as we saw in 2018, it gave us confidence and we carried it on. Momentum is an amazing thing. If you’ll get it, you’ll take it.”

“We’re back training with a week now. The players are really enjoying it. There’s an appetite there, a real hunger. The approach and attitude have been really good. I think everyone was very happy to get back onto the training field and get down to the hard work.”
