“Oz Tag Crocs” were crowned 2017 Pig’n’Porter champions at the weekend.
The “Crocs” were winners of the Premier Division in the 16th year of the event at Old Crescent’s rugby grounds in Rosbrien. The event is the largest of its kind in Ireland and is hosted by the Limerick club in association with TagRugby.ie.
With nearly 3000 people competing from Ireland, the UK and Australia, the event was a welcome boost for hospitality in the city. The festival was shared between Old Crescent’s grounds in Rosbrien and the UL sports campus in Castletroy.
President of Old Crescent, Tim Duggan, was speaking before the prize giving at the event and said
“Pig ‘n’ Porter would not be possible without the generous support of our main sponsor Heineken Light, and our associate sponsors, Bord na Mona, Keane’s Jewellers, Davis Printers and UL Sports Campus, and our media partner, the Limerick Post”.
He went on to express his gratitude for the volunteers who take part every year, thanking
“our hard working team of volunteers who once again made sure that everyone had a super time, Our volunteers are at the heart of the festival and their dedication has ensured the success of the Pig’n’Porter Festivalover the years”
