Night of shocks in Limerick SFC

There were a number of surprise results in the Limerick SFC last night that have blown the groups wide open with only one game remaining. In Group 1, Monaleen were looking to consolidate their position at the top of the group by retaining their 100\% record in the competition. Intermediate Champions Adare had other ideas and snatched a 1-13 a piece draw to keep their hopes of progression alive. Monaleen can now be caught at the top by Drom Broadford who face Fr Caseys later today.

In Group 2, the biggest shock of the night took place in Kilmallock as Oola toppled Newcastle West in a thrilling game. Oola stormed into a 3-4 to 0-3 early in the opening half only to see NCW level the game by the 45th minute. Oola however pushed on to record their second win of the campaign winning by 3-8 to 1-13. Meanwhile, St Patricks also picked up a somewhat surprising victory over Ballylanders on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-11. The victory for the city side now sees them level on points with Ballylanders, Oola and St Kierans, with NCW a solitary point ahead of them. St Kierans have a chance to hit top spot when they play Ballysteen on Sunday evening.

The action continues today with a two games in Group 1. The games conclude on Sunday evening as St Kierans clash with Ballysteen.
