UPDATE | Peter Nash nominated for GAA.ie Football Player of the Week after helping Limerick to win in Belfast

Nash is on a three man shortlist for the award as Limerick’s sole representative in the team.

After scoring 1-2 in helping Limerick to a valuable victory against Antrim in Belfast, Limerick’s Peter Nash is named in the GAA.ie Football Team of the Week.

In addition to that, the Kildimo Pallaskenry star is one of three nominated for the player of the week award.

He is joined in that regard by Leitrim’s Keith Beirne and Galway’s Paul Conroy. Voting will close at 10am on Tuesday, February 8, and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.

It is the second successive week that a Limerick player is named on the team as Billy Lee’s side moved to the top of Division 3 with a second win on the bounce.

Nash is one of only four players outside the top top division that is named.

Nash’s early goal which followed a pair of kicks and marks with the Kildimo Pallaskenry man finishing to the net pushed Limerick six ahead and gave the Shannonsiders a lead they didn’t let slip.

In the second half, the forward added a pair of points at crucial times as Limerick held off the comeback from their hosts.

Next up for Nash and Limerick is Louth in the League in the TUS Gaelic Grounds in a fortnight’s time.

Elsewhere, Armagh, Donegal and Kerry have three players on the team after their respective wins in Division 1.

Mayo have a pair selected while there is one each for Galway, Roscommon and Leitrim.
