O’Connor and Bradley Selected for Irish Regions Side

Fairview Rangers duo AJ O’Connor and Stephen Bradley have been selected for Irish Regions team 1 for the UEFA Regions qualifying match which takes place on Saturday March 12th. The time and venue are yet to be confirmed for the game.

It is a huge opportunity to represent Ireland in the UEFA Regions Cup qualifiers against San Marino, Bulgaria and Romania in October 2022. Ireland’s amateurs last won the official tournament in 2015 and manager Gerry Davis has welcomed the return of the competition set for 2023.

O’Connor and Bradley have been hugely influential for FAI Junior Cup holders Fairview over the past two seasons in particular. O’Connor is the current captain of the team and led them to FAI Presidents Cup success in September at Tallaght Stadium. Both players are versatile players for Jason Purcell’s side and can play at centre-back or central midfield.

The club congratulated both clubmen on the news.

They will be joined on team 1 by St. Michaels trio Shane Ryan, Jimmy Carr and Chris Smith. Smith is an Abbeyfeale native who joined the Tipperary club this season. Eoin Hayes of Newmarket Celtic has also been selected.
