HIGHLIGHTS | Munster succumb to back-to-back pre-season defeats against London Irish

The side also lost their pre-season opener against Gloucester last week.

It’s been a tough start to life as Munster head coach for Graham Rowntree as his side fell to a 19-14 defeat in a pre-season battle against London Irish on Friday.

The side are zero from two in terms of pre-season games this season and both matches followed a similar trend, with Munster failing to score in the first half in both games.

The Premiership opposition notched two tries in the first half and converted one, with the score being 0-12 heading into the interval.

After a number of half-time substitutions, Munster finally got their first try from Mike Haley with Jack Crowley making no mistake with the conversion.

Another London Irish try took the wind out of Munster’s sail but they did get another over the line through Paddy Patterson with Crowley repeating his feat and converting yet again.

Munster continued to pressure the opposition defence but it wasn’t to be in the end for Rowntree’s side as they dust themselves off to go again in a fortnight’s time.
