“Everyone of us knew we were well capable of coming up to this grade” | Granagh Ballingarry’s Cathal O’Keeffe believes side can push on to Premier

Granagh Ballingarry will be looking to make it back-to-back promotions following their triumph in the B ranks last year.

After their Junior B triumph in 2021, Granagh Ballingarry will be looking to go from strength to strength as they take on Mungret St Pauls in the Junior A final on Saturday.

Promotion to the Premier Junior ranks would be a meteoric rise for the side within the last few years.

They’ve impressed at Junior A level, with three wins and two losses in the group followed up by a 1-16 to 0-10 semi-final victory over Hospital Herbertstown that guided them to this year’s final.

It’s come as no surprise to the Granagh Ballingarry players, who believed they were capable of playing in this division last year according to Cathal O’Keeffe.

O’Keeffe also believes that they have enough firepower to push up into the Premier.

“Last year we were playing Junior B football and every one of us knew that we were well capable of coming up to this grade.

“It’s just shown now that we’re playing well above here and hopefully drive on to the Premier division now this year.”
