WATCH: Mike Sherry delighted to be back

Mike Sherry made his first competitive appearance for Munster last weekend.

Sherry made his Irish debut in the summer of 2013 following a tour of the US but unfortunately for the hooker, the following season saw him suffer a cruciate knee injury ruling him out for around 6 months.

During his six month absence, Sherry ended up having to have three surgeries on a recurring shoulder issue which meant his time off the field ended up being 22 months.

When he returned in at the start of the 2015/16 season, the Garryowen man went on to play 24 out of 28 games for his province that year.

A back issue at the beginning of last season eventually needed surgery and again ruled him out for another season. However the 29 year old is now fully fit again and delighted to be back on the pitch and not in the medial room.

Four more appearances for the Limerick man would mean he would reach 100 caps for Munster which would be a great achievement for someone so burdened by injuries.

Speaking ahead of Munster’s game this weekend against the Cheetahs, Sherry discussed the new boys and his long awaited retun to action.
