WATCH: Aherne insists Aisling “aren’t there to make up the numbers”

Aisling Annacotty manager Mike Aherne and goalkeeper Stephen Walsh took time to preview their FAI Junior Cup quarter final clash against Westport on Sunday afternoon in Mayo (2pm).

At the beginning of the campaign, few in Limerick would have predicted that such a young squad which will include two under 16’s players on Sunday, would have made it to the last eight. Aherne feels the belief is growing within the squad.

At the start of the season for a club like Aisling Annacotty to reach the FAI Junior Cup would have been dream stuff.

But as it progressed we have been getting the belief a but more. We are not just there to make up the numbers. We now what to expect from Westport.

Aherne and Walsh speak about Annacotty’s route to the quarter final and the overall development of the club in the video below.
