All-Ireland winning Limerick quartet involved in Hurling for Cancer Research fundraiser

Four Limerick hurlers feature in “Jim Bolger’s Stars,” managed by Liam Griffin and captained by Kilkenny star TJ Reid.

Jim Bolger and Davy Russell have announced their teams for Hurling for Cancer Research, which takes place in Netwatch Cullen Park in Carlow on Monday, 21 August at 6pm.

Four Limerick hurlers feature in “Jim Bolger’s Stars,” managed by Griffin, with Cian Lynch, Kyle Hayes, Dan Morrissey and Tom Morrissey all involved in a side captained by TJ Reid.

Each is a five-time All-Ireland winner with multiple All-Stars under their belt.

The teams, managed by Brian Cody and Liam Griffin, feature a number of other intercounty stars, with GAA, racing, sports and TV stars such as the Clifford brothers David and Paudie Clifford, star jockey Rachael Blackmore, Irish legend Paul McGrath and many more.

The first Hurling for Cancer Research game took place in 2011, and the event has since raised €1.3m towards funding cancer research.

Gates open at 4:30pm with pre-match entertainment and refreshments before throw-in at 6pm.

Tickets costing €10 for adults and €15 for families are currently on sale at www.HurlingForCancer.ie. Tickets will also be on sale at the gate on the night.
