Clare V Limerick Golf Challenge in Costa del Sol with former Intercounty Hurlers

Former Clare and Limerick stars Brian Lohan and Ollie Moran will captain teams of 32 each.

Two time All Ireland winner Lohan and All Star Moran will captain Clare and Limerick sides for the event at the La Cala Golf Resort in the Costa Del Sol. The match’s will take play on the from the 18th of November to the 20th.

Speaking at the launch, Conor Galvin CEO of Golf Voyager stated that

“There is an appetite for competitive team golf with a difference and bringing a hurling rivalry into the equation will certainly add to the excitement. We hosted a similar Munster Vs Leinster rugby themed golf outing in Vilamoura back in January 2017 which was a huge success.

“We are running that event again in January 2018 and it is nearly sold out already so there is great interest in these type of events. We are also delighted that both Shannon Airport & Padraig McGrath from P&M Golf have come on board as sponsors”.

Welcoming this unique initiative Andrew Murphy, Managing Director, Shannon Airport said:

We look forward to learning which team wins the inaugural Shannon Airport Cup.”

The Shannon Airport Cup is will consist of two rounds of golf with airport/golf transfers, buggies, commemorative polo shirt, and a 3 night bed and breakfast at Sunset Beach Club in Banalmadena.

There format is a team of two, four ball better ball, and will combine the Clare V LImerick Event. There is an availability of 32 spaces for Clare fans and 32 spaces for Limerick fans totalling the number of bookings to 64.

With bookings now being taken, prices are €325 per person based on twin room sharing. Flights are not part of the package but are available from Shannon through Ryanair.
