Details confirmed for Limerick Football Championship start this weekend

The 2021 Limerick Senior, Intermediate, Premier Junior and Junior Football Championships will start this weekend.

One week out from the All-Ireland Final where Limerick will take on Cork, the Limerick club football championships will kick off with a full round of fixtures.

The Senior championship is the highlight with four first round fixtures.

Defending champions Adare take on 2019 finalists Oola in the most eye catching fixture. Elsewhere, last year’s finalists Ballylanders meet 2020 Intermediate champions Claughaun, Newcastle West take on Galbally and Ballysteen face St Kierans in an all west affair.

All those ties have a 7pm throw in on Sunday evening with the exception of Newcastle West and Galbally which is played on Saturday evening.

In the Intermediate championship, Drom Broadford have their first game at the grade this millennium when they face Kildimo Pallaskenry. Beaten finalists in the last two years, Gerald Griffins meet Glin while St Senans take on Bruff. Each of those games throws in at 7pm on Saturday evening.
