Disappointment for Tournafulla in Munster Championship

Tournafulla’s hopes of being crowned Munster Junior Hurling champions were ended today after being beaten 1-15 to 0-14 by Balinameela of Waterford in the semi finals of the competition.

It brings to an end, a very successful year for the club who beat rivals Killeedy in the Limerick JAHC final last month.

Tournafulla made the dream start in Mallow and had three points in as many minutes to open the game.

Th Waterford side responded well and notched 1-2 in the next couple of minuets to take the lead.

By the 20th minute, Ballinameela had opened up a six point lead with the score at 1-8 to 0-5.

Tour would score the next three points to reduce the deficit before the Waterford side grabbed the final point of the game to leave the scoreboard at 1-9 to 0-8 in favour of Ballinameela.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, Ballinameela had increased their advantage to seven ponts.

Tournafulla responded well to their credit and were within four points of the Waterford team approaching injury time.

However, they were unable to find the goal they desperately sought with the Waterford champions advancing to the Munster Final.
