WATCH: Earls signs new three year deal with Munster and Ireland

Munster have been handed a major boost this Thursday with the news that Keith Earls has signed a new three year deal to remain at the province. Earls’ new contract brings him up to the end of June 2021.

Earls was named Munster’s Player of the Year last season and also made the 2018 Six Nations team of the year. He has come back to form brilliantly in recent times after putting frustrating injury woes behind him.

The Moyross native made his Munster debut in 2007 and was on the bench for the province’s last Heineken Cup win against  Toulouse in 2008.

He also made his Irish debut later that year against Canada at Thomond Park. Earls was then selected to tour with the British and Irish Lions in 2009 at the age of 21 and has also played for Munster 154 times, scoring 47 tries. He was named in the Irish squad for the Autumn Internationals yesterday.

“It would be hard to see me playing anywhere else! I’m delighted to have re-signed for a further two years, said Earls when the news broke. “My family and I are thrilled and I’m looking forward to the future with Munster and Ireland.”

Earls is in line to play in Munster’s Pro14 clash with Glasgow Warriors this weekend after missing the Champions Cup games with Exeter Chiefs and Gloucester due to a hamstring problem.
