First ever women’s division one National Cup win for Limerick Celtics

Celtics managed to hang on to their lead throughout despite being under constant pressure from the Dublin side, going on to claim a historic 64-55 win.

Limerick Celtics made history over the weekend, as they won their first women’s division one National Cup, beating out Abbey Seal Dublin Lions in an impressive 64-55 victory.

The Limerick Celtics led for the entire game, in what was a hard-fought battle, with Abbey Seal Dublin Lions relying heavily upon Sydney Kin.

Celtics did well to push their lead out, and finished the first quarter in the ascendency at 21-11.

Dublin Lions got going in the second quarter, pounding the Celtics with offensive wave after wave, but Limerick Celtics still headed in at half-time with a 32-21 lead.
