Fixtures announced for Round One of Limerick Senior Hurling Championship

The Limerick SHC will begin in Friday May 5 with Monaleen, on their return to the Senior Ranks facing Knockainey, 2016 county cup champions in Caherconlish. There are a further four games on the Saturday, with one game being played Sunday evening.

Patrickswell will begin the defence of their championship against Adare in a repeat of their thrilling first round clash last year. 12 months ago, Adare overcame their neighbours 1-20 to 2-15.

Doon begin their campaign against fellow east rivals Ahane in Cappamore. Both sides reached the quarter final stages last year and will be looking to progress further this year.

South Liberties meet Bruff in a repeat of the 2016 County Cup semi final where South Liberties came out on top 1-22 to 1-13. This game will also be played in Caherconlish.

2015 All Ireland Champions, and favourites to win back the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship, Na Piarsaigh face newly promted Cappamore in Kilmallock in a Saturday evening fixture.

The Sunday evening fixture will be contested by 2014 winners Kilmallock and last years finalists Ballybrown who played out a draw when they met last year.
