Friends of Limerick football sponsored walk along the Great Southern Trail Greenway

This Saturday 9th March all the Limerick Football squads will take to the Great Southern Trail Greenway for their Annual fundraiser.

In the past, they have climbed Carrauntohill, Mount Brandon and Galty Mor.  However, this year they will stay closer to home and experience a 10km section of the Greenway starting off in Rathkeale and heading towards Newcastlewest

Members of the public are welcome to come along and experience The Great Southern Trail Greenway with them.

Sponsorship cards are available or €10 per person on the day. Registration and parking on Saturday morning is from 10.15am in the car park of Rathkeale House Hotel just a short distance from the trail start.  The walk starts @ 11am sharp.

If you require further details please contact Colette O’Grady @ 086-8476299

All funds raised will go directly towards the Limerick Underage Football Academies and our County Minor, U20 & Senior Training Funds.

ABOUT THE GREENWAYThe Limerick Greenway (Great Southern Trail) is a unique 85km stretch of countryside in West Limerick/North Kerry. It is the route taken by the Limerick – Tralee railway line, which opened in 1867/1880 and closed in 1975/1977. Today the Limerick Greenway is suitable for walking and cycling off road along a approximately 40km route.
