Galway WFC Announce Signing of Limerick Native Jenna Slattery

Treaty United senior women’s side were dealt a blow ahead of the 2022 season with the news that last season’s star performer Jenna Slattery has joined fellow Airtricity Women’s National League side Galway. Slattery spent the last two seasons with her hometown club, forging a huge reputation as one of the up and coming talents in the league. It is the second high profile player to depart the club following Gillian Keenan’s transfer to Athlone.

Galway WFC announced the news on their official Twitter page this evening.

As stated above, Slattery enjoyed a decent year on a personal level in what was an otherwise dismal year for Treaty. She scored 10 goals and was voted senior player of the year at the young age of 17. She will join the likes of Irish international centre-back Savannah McCarthy at Eamon Deacy Park in 2022.

Of course, Slattery is no stranger to international caps as she was named in Dave Connell’s Ireland U-19 panel a few months ago as they faced England, Northern Ireland and Switzerland in Limerick and also scored in a warm-up game with their Northern counterparts. The midfielder said she was delighted to start a new chapter.

New Treaty manager Don O’Riordan continues to assemble a new squad before the kick-off against DLR Waves at UCD Bowl on Saturday March 5th with 2pm kick-off. Slattery’s Galway will travel to Turners Cross to take on Cork City on the same day at 5pm.
