Garryowen’s Bill Johnston captains Munster A/Development side for tie with Ireland 20’s new signing Neil Cronin is among the replacements

The Munster A/Development team have been named by Head Coach Peter Malone ahead of their clash against the Ireland U20s on Sunday at the 3G pitch in UL (2pm).

The squad is littered with talent from local Limerick clubs while Neil Cronin will start among the replacements as Johann van Graan looks to slowly work the scrum half into the Munster setup ahead of next season.

Bill Johnston captains the side from out-half with fellow senior players Stephen Fitzgerald and Jeremy Loughman also starting, on the right wing and at loosehead prop respectively.

Seven Greencore Munster Rugby Academy players are named in the starting XV – Alan Tynan (Young Munster), Liam Coombes (Garryowen), Jack Stafford (Shannon), Keynan Knox, Fineen Wycherley (Young Munster), Sean O’Connor and Gavin Coombes (Young Munster).

Peter Sylvester and Dave McCarthy (Garryowen) are the centre pairing with Shannon’s Ty Chan at hooker, fellow clubmate Ronan Coffey in the second row and John Hodnett at openside flanker.

Among the replacements are Andrew Keating (Garryowen), Charlie Carmody (Shannon), Evan O’Gorman and Conor Hayes (both young Munster) Dan Walsh (Cork Constitution), Bryan O’Connor (UCC), James Taylor (UCC).
