Gillane leads Mary Immaculate to Fitzgibbon Cup Final

Mary Immaculate College are into another Fitzgibbon Cup Final following a 1-18 to 0-18 win over NUIG in Cusack Park, Ennis.

Limerick star Aaron Gillane was the scorer in chief for Mary I, finishing with a whopping 1-12 of their total.

Gillane’s penalty on the stroke of half time helped the teaching college to a two point lead (1-8 to 0-9) at the break.

The Patrickswell man continued to show his class in the second half to fire Mary I into the final against UCC. That game takes place on Saturday, February 23.

Scorers – Mary I: Aaron Gillane 1-12 (1-0 pen, 0-7f, 0-1 s/l), Colin O’Brien 0-2, Thomas Monaghan, Luke Meade, Colin Guilfoyle and Gary Cooney 0-1 each.
