HIGHLIGHTS | Ireland wipe out Japan in Autumn Nations opener

Ireland made short work of visitors Japan in their opening game of the 2021 Autumn Nations Series in a fixture which finished 60 – 5 in favour of the home side.

Ireland hosted world rugby’s up and coming nation Japan in their first game of the 2021 Autumn Nations Series at the Aviva Stadium last Saturday. The one sided match-up saw Irish rugby legend earn his 100th cap for his country, scoring one try and 11 points off the tee in the process.

Munster’s Andrew Conway made his presents felt in the number 14 jersey, scoring a hat-trick of tries. Other scores came from Leinster favourites James Lowe, Jameson Gibson-Park, Garry Ringrose and Cian Healy, as well as Connacht’s Bundee Aki.

Munster out-half Joey Carbery replaced centurion Sexton in the games final quarter and added four points to the Irish scoreline.

Ireland are set to face the New Zealand All Blacks in their next Autumn Nations clash at the Aviva Stadium next Saturday November 13th at 3:15pm.
