Both games were live streamed from Cappamore in difficult conditions on Saunday afternoon.
Oola and Galtee Gaels were crowned 3Dental Limerick Ladies Intermediate and Junior Football titles respectively on Sunday in Cappamore
Galtee Gaels set the tone with an incredible performance in the Junior final while Oola went one better than last year to finally get their hands on the Intermediate title.
Limerick Ladies Intermediate Football Final
Oola 2-9 : 1-6 Knockainey
Oola claimed the Limerick Intermediate Ladies title with a six-point win over Knockainey to avenge the defeat at the same stage last year.
Amy Ryan bagged the all important goals for Oola as they can now look forward to senior football next season.
Knockainey started the scoring in the final but by the time they next found the target, with the half coming to an end, Oola had kicked five successive scores.
That left it at 0-5 to 0-3 at the interval in Cappamore.
But Ryan turned the game on its head within six minutes of the restart, twice finding the net to put a healthy cushion between the sides.
Ryan’s first saw her drive at the heart of the defence before firing into the roof of the net. Three minutes later, she won possession just outside the Knockainey 21′, this time shooting low into the corner.
A quickfire double from Lainey Stokes had them eleven points to the good in difficult conditions. Ava Hartigan did grab a consolation goal late on but there was only ever going to be one winner at that late stage with Oola prevailing.
Limerick Ladies Junior A Football Final
Galtee Gaels 4-13 to 2-6 Ahane
Galtee Gaels sealed promotion to the Intermediate Championship with a dazzling display in their Junior Final win over Ahane on Sunday.
Johny Cleary’s side led from start to finish with the game ending 4-13 to 2-6 in their favour.
Galtee raced into an early lead in Cappamore with Roisin Breedy’s goal helping them into a 1-3 to no score lead inside three minutes.
Ahane’s response was impressive as they bagged a three-pointer of their own through Rachel Donnellan.
But the Galtee onslaught continued with Leah Geary slotting to the net. Breedy then grabbed her second goal with the maroon side leading 3-10 to 1-2 at the break.
Ahane started the second brightly with Niamh Brennan goaling to reduce the deficit. However, that was ruled out within minutes as Breedy completed her hat trick to end any hopes of an Ahane comeback.
From here their scores petered out, with just one more to come but by this stage the job had been done with Ahane grabbing some consolation scores down the stretch.
