How It Stands | Limerick SFC semi-finalists confirmed as is relegation pairing

The four quarter-finals in the Limerick SFC were played over the weekend.

The Limerick SFC is down to the final four after a busy weekend in the championship.

On Friday night Monaleen were the first team into the semi-finals beating Fr Caseys while Galtee Gaels joined them on Saturday after overcoming Oola.

On Sunday, Newcastle West and Adare completed the line up, with wins over Claughaun and Ballysteen respectively.

The draw for the semi-finals is yet to be made but there will be no repeat match ups with each of the table toppers advancing.

Adare are defending champions and will be competing in a fifth successive last four tie. Newcastle West were champions in 2019, but lost to Adare last year.

Galtee Gaels are only in the second year back in the top tier after winning the Junior Championship in 2017 while Monaleen most recently featured in the last four in 2018, losing to eventual champions Adare.

The relegation final is also set with Galbally to face Na Piarsaigh. The Caherdavin outfit lost out to St Kierans whie Galbally were beaten by Ballylanders.

Galbally were promoted from the Intermediate ranks in 2018, contesting the semi-finals last year. Na Piaraigh will be competing in their second relegation final in four years, defeating St Pats in 2018.
