“It’s a great opportunity” | Peter O’Mahony looking at the positives ahead of Wasps trip

Munster travel to England to take on the Wasps in the Champions Cup opener this Sunday.

Little in the build up has focused on the match with Munster without the majority of their first team due to the recent trip to South Africa.

34 of that contingent have since returned to Ireland but will miss out on the game as they are still in quarantine.

A number of players and staff are still in South Africa with Head Coach Johann van Graan one of those that will be absent on Sunday.

Munster have named their team for the Wasps clash with just nine of the 21-man squad having played in the red before.

But ahead of the clash, Peter O’Mahonhy is focusing on the positives, outlining how it is a huge opportunity for the younger players.

“It never crossed my mind that we wouldn’t be able to fulfill it. It’s great for guys, it’s a great opportunity, it’s a great test for the club. The guys that are left, it’s a great opportunity.”
