Jerry O’Dea Memorial Tournament Takes Place on Sunday

A memorial tournament in honour of Jerry O’Dea will take take place at Pike Rovers Football Club in Crosagalla this Sunday from 12pm. The much beloved Councillor passed away suddenly last month just a week before he was to be named Mayor of Limerick.

O’Dea was known to provide great hospitality and support to a number of Treaty United supporters before games at the Markets Field from his bar on Mulgrave Street. He also provided support to fans travelling to away games and Treaty supporters laid out a wreath before their game with Cork City while a minute’s applause was held.

The four clubs taking part in the tournament are Pike Rovers, Caledonians, Geraldines and a Treaty United 11 selected by Tommy Barrett. All four clubs were indebted to O’Dea for his aid over the years. RIP
