John Ryan names Limerick Minor Football XV for Munster C’Ship opener

The game is a repeat of last year’s phase one final where Tipperary were 1-14 to 1-4 winners with O’Shea getting Limerick’s goal on that evening.

Limerick minor manager John Ryan has named his side for Thursday’s Munster Championship Phase One, Round One game with Tipperary in Mick Neville Park.

Aidan O’Shea is the only remaining member from the side that reached the phase one decider last year with the Cappagh native captaining the side from midfield.

He is one of two Cappagh/Rathkeale players in the XV where Kildimo Pallaskenry and Fr Caseys both supply three members. Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan also have a pair while Croom, Ahane, Na Piarsaigh, Athea and Pallasgreen are also represented.

Throw in this Thursday is at 7pm with the game to be streamed live on Munster GAA TV.

The game is a repeat of last year’s phase one final where Tipperary were 1-14 to 1-4 winners, O’Shea getting Limerick’s goal on that evening.

This year, both of the phase one finalists will advance to the Munster semi-finals where Cork and Kerry await. After Tipperary, Limerick travel to Ennis before rounding out the first part of their campaign at home to Waterford. The top two will qualify for the phase one final which is down for decision on May 11.

Watch Limerick v Tipperary.
