Junior Football Game of 2020 – Crecora-Manister v Monagea – Final

Crecora-Manister were crowned County Junior A Football champions for 2020 following a 1-11 to 0-11 victory over Monagea in Kilmallock on October 4th.

Mike McCormack played a captain’s role by landing the all-important goal for Crecora. His goal opened the scoring in the game and proved crucial.

They dominated the opening quarter and led 1-3 to 0-1 at the first water break. Monagea shaded the second quarter but Crecora held a 1-5 to 0-5 lead at the break.

Three of the first four scores of the half had Monagea within a point at the final water break. The west Limerick outfit levelled shortly after the restart and found took the lead with five minutes left on the clock

Crecora would respond instantly with a free to level before Karl Moloney put them ahead once again with a brilliant solo score. Richie Murphy then made it a two point game approaching injury time..

The sides then exchanged scores but two on the bounce from Crecora down the stretch sealed the win and promotion to the intermediate grade for 2021.
