For the firs time since the beginning of the 2020/2021 season, a full set of fixtures were completed on Sunday. There were 3 away wins, 2 home wins and 1 draw on an entertaining morning in the Premier Division.
Ballynanty Rovers continued their good form as they defeated Regional United 1-0 thanks to a first half strike from Arron Nunan. It leaves David Dunphy’s side top of the table with a 100% winning record following victories over Coonagh, Geraldines, Pike Rovers and Regional United.
Pike Rovers bounced back from their defeat to Ballynanty on Thursday evening with a 1-3 victory over Geraldines at the Garryowen Green. It wasn’t all plane sailing for Robbie Williams men who went behind to a Christy O’Neill goal and it remained that way until half time.
However, the Hoops upped the tempo in the second half and goals from Steven McGann (x2) and Kieran Hanlon supplied the Crosagalla outfit with their second victory of the season. The result leaves Geraldines in the bottom two.
Janesboro secured their second win in four days with a 0-2 victory against Kilmallock. Aaron Fitzgerald and Adam Costello accounted for the ‘Boro goals and completed a good week for the southside club who have 7 points. Kilmallock are now rock bottom of the league.
Aisling Annacotty defeated Coonagh 0-5 in Coonagh with goals from three of the four defenders. Thomas Clarke scored with a header from a corner kick, Nathan O’Callaghan struck home from the edge of the box while Killian Maloney scored his second goal in four days. Adam Foley and Conor Coughlan put gloss on the win for Shane O’Hanlon’s side who maintained their own 100% start.
Fairview Rangers picked up their first victory of the new season with a 3-0 win over Mungret Regional at the Fairgreen. Stephen Bradley converted a first half penalty before goals from Paul Danaher and 17 year old Conor Keane made sure of victory.
Nenagh and Prospect shared the spoils at Brickfields on Sunday morning with a 2-2 draw. Prospect took the lead through Jason Cross but Steven Daly equalised for Cillian Fitzpatrick’s side. Eddie Brazier restored the way side’s lead but a goal from Danny Butler gained the draw for the home side.
