Limerick FC have bolstered their depleted squad with the addition of first division duo Jack Brady and Darren Murphy. Brady is a goalkeeper who played with Longford Town this season. Darren Murphy is a 23 year old central midfielder who currently plies his trade with Cobh Ramblers.
A statement on the club’s Twitter page announced the signings. Both players will be available for selection for tonight’s game against Derry City.
“#LimerickFC are pleased to announce the signings of goalkeeper Jack Brady, most recently with Longford Town, and midfielder Darren Murphy, last at Cobh Ramblers.
Both players’ clearances have been received this evening, in time for tonight’s game in Derry.”
Murphy made quite the impression at Cobh during his time at St. Colman’s Park. A statement on the Cobh Ramblers Twitter account wished Murphy well in the future.
Both signings are timely for the club due to the recent departures of six players from the squad. Brady will be a direct replacement for Brendan Clarke who re-joined St. Patrick’s Athletic yesterday. Brady started his career at Shelbourne in the underage system before progressing to the senior ranks in 2015. In 2017, he signed for Longford Town.
