GAA
The decade that was 2010-2019 is fast coming to an end.
For the Limerick hurlers, it was a mixed decade that started with a protest but would ultimately deliver a first All-Ireland title in 45 years.
Overall, Limerick won one All-Ireland title, Two Munster Championships, a Division 1 League Title and A Division 2 League title.
Over the next fifteen days in the lead up to Christmas, I will select my team of the decade that saw Limerick play 40 championship games and 68 League games.
First up is the No. 1 spot.
Goalkeeper
Nickie Quaid

2010-Present
Honours: All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, 2x Munster Senior Hurling Championship, Division 1 League Title, Division 2 League Title
There is only one man to chose here and that is Effin’s Nickie Quaid.
Although he made his debut in the 2010 as a midfield substitution under Justin McCarthy, he was named in goals for the 2011 season by Donal O’Grady and has been a mainstay since.
Following in the footsteps of previous Quaid’s to play in goals for Limerick, Nickie’s finest moment for his county came in the 2018 All-Ireland semi-final against Cork as a piece of magic prevented Seamus Harnedy from goaling for Cork.
Limerick would go onto win the game in extra-time before clinching the All-Ireland against Galway three weeks later.
Honourable Mentions: N/A
Quaid was ever-present for his county throughout the decade.
